Skip's Snack Bar | Merrimac, Massachusetts
Skip’s Snack Bar boasted a spectacular roadside sign with neon letters and flashing arrows. The family-owned restaurant opened in 1947 and was famous for two things: Hand-cut curly French fries and Cruise Nights. On several Saturday evenings each summer, Skip’s invited owners and collectors of vintage cars for a few hours of food, festivities, and fund-raising for local charities. Skip's closed in 2022 after 75 years of burgers and curly fries.
